Frequently asked questions
A Public Adjuster is a professional insurance adjuster licensed to work exclusively for the benefit of the policyholder. We prepare, present, and negotiate property claims for you to your insurance company. Insurance carriers have professionals looking out for their interests and using a public adjuster puts a professional on your side as well!
Your insurance company will send their own adjuster or utilize the services of a sub-contracted claims adjuster to represent their interests. From the beginning, the insurance company wants to pay out as little as possible and these insurance adjusters are paid by the very same company that owes you a fair settlement. A questions to ask yourself, should you trust someone to tell you what they owe you if they have a vested financial interest in the outcome?
Typically a contractor is not a licensed public adjuster and cannot help you in the same ways. Contractors can certainly write an estimate to repair, but unless they are not a licensed public adjuster then they cannot investigate, appraise, evaluate, prepare a claim, interpret the insurance policy, give claim advice, or negotiate the claim.
